About The Desert Belle Experience
Our story
Two years ago, I began manifesting a very specific home that I desired: an earth dome on our own piece of land. No HOA, no neighbors right up against our home, no one micromanaging us. I was seeking privacy, chickens, gardening space, gorgeous views and a special space that I could use to share my luxury picnics and unique glamping experiences with others. Less than a year ago, I was searching Zillow and, to my surprise, my eyes rested on a dome home in the foothills of the Superstition Mountains. I almost couldn’t believe it! We went to view the home & land and were instantly enthralled by the beauty and uniqueness of this place. In February of 2023, our dreams began unfolding right in front of us! We are so excited to share this special place with you!
Our SPACE
With gorgeous views of the Superstition Mountains, we have created a serine space on our land to enjoy picnics and glamping experiences. This area is fenced in with natural materials to create privacy and safety without hindering the views. As you enter through the gate you will immediately be met with friendly chickens in the most charming coop complete with symmetrical flowers boxes and a purple winding path that leads you to your luxury set up. We have two giant bell tents that can be used as a lounge for a picnic add-on or a personalized glamping experience. The picnic area has a multi-function gazebo that can offer shade or light rain coverage or can be opened up to enjoy more sunshine. The area is surrounded by edible gardens and lovely potted flowers and flower baskets. The views from the picnic set up are breathtaking-ESPECIALLY at sunset when the mountain begins to change colors. The purple path was inspired by the color of the mountain at sunset. We also built a luxurious outdoor restroom, that we are so proud of, for the convenience of our guests. For cold days or evenings, we have a gas fire pit available as an add-on surrounded with luxurious wickers chairs, complete with throw pillows and blankets for each guest. We are looking forward to sharing our space with you!
Our Designer
Hello! My name is Elisabeth Joy. I am a teacher, a wife, a mother of two, a lover of life and a small spaces designer. I was inspired to become more serious about designing after I completely redesigned my bedroom a couple of years ago. I wasn’t sure what other spaces I wanted to design, until I went on a women’s empowerment retreat in Costa Rica the summer of 2022. On that retreat I challenged myself by staying in a tent in middle of the jungle rather than a fancy hotel room. The tent experience was truly a whole vibe. The entire week I kept thinking of what I would do to make it luxurious. When I got home from my trip, my wheels started turning and so many fun ideas began flowing to me. That’s when I began to desire hosting glamping and fancy picnic set ups. I bought some items, set them up, took some photos and asked people what they thought. I was overwhelmed by the positive feedback and decided to follow my dreams. There was another piece to my dream that also developed unexpectedly. I taught kindergarten for 14 years, and as a new homeschool parent, I desired to create a homestead microschool with a bell tent as our classroom. I’m in middle of my first year of this project and really love it! My students never want to leave and I know that speaks volumes! I recently turned 40 and am falling more and more in love with life through my creative expressions. Thank you for stopping by to check out my offerings!
